After the death of Alex Trebek, the renowned face of the show Jeopardy!, who has hosted the show for about 36 years until he passed away on 8 November 2020, the show initially announced its new host Mike Richard as a permanent host of the show and Mayim Bialik to be the guest host for prime time special. But not so long ago Mike Richard quit the show after being backlash for a series of scandals a few years ago.

After the quitting of Mike Richard, the former Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings who is also the consulting producer of the show has been selected as a guest host for the show along with the Call Me Kat star as another of the Jeopardy! hosts. It is not yet decided who will be the permanent host of the show, from now onward.

Jennings, one of the greatest winners of the show is honored to be invited to host the show even as a guest host and said:

“Sharing this stage with Alex Trebek was one of the greatest honors of my life”

When he was introduced as a guest host by Johnny Gilbert to the show.

On the other hand, Mayim Bialik, the Emmy nominated actress from The Big Bang Theory has been chosen as another guest host for the game show and she calls it a “dream job” for her.

The Jeopardy! host Mayim Bialik in an interview with Glamour last year said “It’s a dream job, there’s no other job I would rather have”.

She also added that she loves her sitcom work and loves all the other things she does. But she absolutely never had a better job.

Now both the hosts are hosting the show by taking turns for the various episodes for a few months now, for the present 38th Jeopardy! Season.

Is Mayim Bialik, a Permanent Host of “Jeopardy!”?

As for now, we have two hosts presently hosting the Jeopardy!, Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik. There is still no confirmation of who will be joining the hosting for the show permanently. The show is in its 38th season and both the hosts are well qualified for the job and are doing a great job hosting it.

Bialik recently told Entertainment Tonight about her desire to be a permanent host of Jeopardy!. When she was asked if she wanted to be a permanent host of the show she said “I would love that”, and added that she liked season to season since she was 13 years old.

And “What I know is what I’m doing till May 6 and beyond that hopefully, I will know more before May 6” as she mentioned.

If Bialik gets the role of host, she will be the first female on the show as a host. So when she was asked if she wanted to mark anything as a permanent host she replied:

“I think being female is its own mark” and that being able to be a woman and a host in that iconic role blows her mind.

She will be hosting the show until the time we all get to know who will be the permanent host, to keep the legacy of the late Alex Trebek.

Who will be the Jeopardy! host? Seems to be laid out open to the public to judge and select the best-suited one.

The Call Me Kat actress has already spoken honestly of her desire to work as the permanent host for the show. But the actress seems already packed with various schedules from the Call Me Kat series to her Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown podcast. Bialik is fully busy with a packed schedule which makes it difficult for her to go for another schedule in the view of the people but Bialik still is strong with her hosting position.

Recently, there was a rumor regarding Bialik not being able to fit in the show’s cultural and traditional standards and seems to be firm on doing things on her own. The show has been running for so many years and has a wide range of faithful viewers, and hence the actress is receiving a mixed judgment for her job as a host for the greatest game show.

But there is a recent discussion on Reddit about who will be the permanent host of the show and few fans believed that the announcer Johnny Gilbert has left some hints on who will be the host while introducing both Bialik and Jennings. What the fans noticed is that Gilbert introduced Jennings as “hosting Jeopardy!” and Bialik as “host of Jeopardy!”. This confused the viewers and they questioned and took it as Mayim Bialik will be the permanent host of the show.

But it’s just what people are guessing and we are still not sure who will be taking over the iconic Alex Trebek role as the host of the show hence we have to wait and see just like Mayim Bialik said, till the new announcement
